"The single hardest thing for a practicing politician to understand is that most people, most of the time, don't give politics a first thought all day long." Their days are spent "worrying about the kids, the parents, the mortgage, the boss, their friends, their weight, their health, sex and rock 'n roll."
Prime Minister, Tony Blair
In a review of his recent book, Tony Blair weighs in on the most difficult thing for practicing politicans to understand. His comment explains why so few know little about the stimulus program, the health care program or most any other complex policy matter. The downside, of course, is that much of the time we make important decisions in our voting with too little information to draw smart conclusions. But in an economy like this, it's no wonder that most concerns circle around our jobs and our finances.
